Winter skin sufferers- may we offer you a solution?

You may recognize this month’s influencer, Amara Howe, as she previously reviewed our Eczema sleeve (you can read her prior blog post here!). This time around, we asked her to review our GeLuscious® Moisturizing Gloves to get her thoughts on if the product helped with her dry skin, affected by Eczema. Read on to see her full Q&A and use discount code 'DRYSKIN' for 20% off a pair of gloves (here!) now through Sunday, February, 2nd 2020!

1.) Name

Amara Howe

2.) Where do you live?

London, England

3.) Who are your biggest influences? Who do you admire most?

Having suffered with eczema for the past year I admire myself the most for braving the toughest of times.

4.) Discuss prior skin issues- how has this impacted your life? What is your biggest concern related to your skin, specifically on your hands?

I suffer with eczema everywhere but because my hands are so accessible for scratching, my hands are one of my worst places. They’re constantly dry and cracked which is crazy because I also suffer from hyperhidrosis, so my palms are lovely and smooth while the backs of my hands are another story. It’s not nice looking down at hands that should be lovely and lady-like.

5.) What are your first impressions of the Silipos product we sent you? How did it add value to you? What did you like about it? How has using this product made your life easier/better?

The GeLuscious® Moisturizing gloves look a lot like thick winter gloves so I like the fact that they don’t stand out at all. I've been wearing them in my relaxing time – when I’m sitting in bed, watching TV and going for walks.

With all the stress of work and city life, being able to pop on these gloves and go out and about without anyone noticing what they are actually for is fantastic. My hands feel a lot smoother and having them on means I am less likely to take them off to itch my skin. I know they are on my hands for a reason!

6.) Would you recommend this product to other people? Why?

Absolutely, some people are very self-conscious of their hands when they have eczema so being able to hide them in some gloves that are actually helping to keep your hands nice and soft is fantastic.

7.) What is something that your followers do not know about you, that you find to be very important to your personal lifestyle?

My followers know everything about me. I am a very open person and spread all of my thoughts, opinions, emotions and more on my social media.

8.) What keeps you motivated when you are faced with challenges?

Knowing that eczema comes and goes, and that there’s always going to be a light at the end of the tunnel.

9.) What is one piece of advice you would give to someone suffering from winter skin issues or eczema?

Winter can be incredibly detrimental to the skin and it’s important to look after your skin in such harsh weather. Moisturizing – of course – is the most important thing and wrapping up warm.

Winter weather can cause your skin to crack so make sure you are wearing appropriate clothing. Bring your creams with you everywhere you do and do what’s best for you always. MOISTURIZE, MOISTURIZE, MOISTURIZE!

10.) How do you structure your days? What do you like to do for fun?

I work as a mental health recruiter Monday to Friday and speak on the phone all day, which I love as I am a very chatty person. In my spare time I love to swim, I’m always reading a book and I have a cinema membership so am always at the cinema!

11.) How do you care for your body and health?

I’ve just joined the gym and am incredibly proud to have done so. I have been going for the past two weeks and have found sweat has really helped my eczema. I also love to get out in nature, living in a busy city can be tiring so I always go for walks.
